Division Details South - A new level of competition
The European League of Football’s South division will be one to watch in 2025 as it features the Raiders Tirol, Madrid Bravos, Munich Ravens, and Helvetic Mercenaries. Three of the South division teams know each other well as they were part of last year’s Central Conference with exception of Madrid Bravos coming over from the 2024 Western Conference. The addition of the Bravos to this group makes the South division perhaps one of the league's most exciting too watch next year.
The Munch Ravens: 2024 Record 9-3
The Ravens made the playoffs last season in a tough Central conference earning a enormous win over the Raiders Tirol before falling to the Paris Musketeers 37-40 in the first round of the playoffs. Munich goes into next season with a new quarterback as ELF rookie Russell Tabor takes over for veteran Chad Jeffries.
The Raiders Tirol: 2024 Record 8-4
The Raiders narrowly missed the playoffs in 2024 as they fell to the Munich Ravens in the final week of the regular season. The team brings back head coach Jim Hermann and several key homegrowns, as well as adding Spanish talent Diego Paz and ex-Rhein Fire offensive lineman Jonathan Peppler.
The Madrid Bravos: 2024 Record 8-4
The Bravos go into year two of the franchise looking to build on a phenomenal first season that earned them a spot in the playoffs. The Bravos were the only team to defeat the Rhein Fire in 2024. They also go into 2025 with a new head coach as Andrew Weidinger takes over. They also have brought in former NFL and XFL quarterback Ried Sinnett and offensive lineman Yasir Raji.
The Helvetic Mercenaries: 2024 Record 1-11
The Mercenaries recently went through a tough 2024, however they seem to have gone through the other side for the better as new head coach Marcus Herford takes over in Switzerland. Herford and the Mercenaries have signed several established ELF veterans such as OPOY candidate Aaron Jackson, as well as former Cologne quarterback Isaiah Weed. They also re-signed Rookie of the year Milan Spiller.
