Devan Burrell and William James find new home

After the cancellation of the Leipzig Kings’ 2023 season, several players are looking for new opportunities in the European League of Football. And some have already found a new home for the remainder of the season.

Instant replacement

For the Seamen, after having placed Marquise Manning on Injured reserve, the signing of defensive back Devan Burrell comes in handy. As one of the most productive players with the Kings, the 28-year-old US-American posted two interceptions in five games with the Kings and can support a decimated Seamen secondary directly. Burrell also has the ability to shine in the return game, with one return touchdown each on kick-off and punt returns.

For his former teammate, William James, his journey is going further east. After two years with the Kings, James returns to the Wrocław Panthers. At 31-years of age, the strong safety can directly assess a need for the Polish franchise. The experienced Swede already faced the Panthers once this year, and now has the chance to get his new team into the playoffs.
