The Cologne Centurions have signed former Stuttgart Surge wide receiver and 2021 Rookie of the Year Louis Geyer to their roster for the 2022 season, as reported by the German franchise.

“Louis Geyer is the reigning European League of Football Rookie of the Year. He made countless plays for the [Stuttgart] Surge last year and showed that he belonged on the big stage”, Centurions general manager David Drane commented.

With 450 receiving yards on 22 receptions and three touchdowns, the German standout wide receiver made a name for himself on Europe’s biggest football stage. Averaging 20.5 yards per catch, Geyer even had to deal with different starting quarterbacks over the ten game regular season span.

Centurions general manager David Drane is excited to pair up Geyer with Quinten Pounds and all the other weapons on the Centurions offense: “Along side our already strong receiving core led by Quinten Pounds, we will have even more weapons for our quarterbacks this season”. He added: The best players in Europe will be playing in the European League of Football this season, and we have some of those best young players with us!”.

After starting his American football career with the Stuttgart Scorpions, Geyer only has one ultimate goal: “The Centurions are able to offer me opportunities on and off the field to make the next step towards the NFL”. Geyer added: “I can’t wait to get this started and to win games with the team”.
