Björn Werner steps down as Sports Director & Co-Owner of Berlin Thunder
Felix Pahl

The regular season has just ended, and already there's big news from the Berlin Thunder. Björn Werner, not only a co-owner and sports director but also a prominent face of the franchise, is stepping down.
Werner explained his reasons for ending his role as follows:
"After careful consideration, I have decided to step down from my role as Sports Director and Co-Owner of Berlin Thunder with immediate effect.
The main reason for this decision is my family. The past few years have been incredibly intense, and the challenges of leading a successful football team have required a lot of time and energy. As a husband and father, it's important for me to use the NFL offseason to fully dedicate myself to my family and other activities. This time is invaluable to me, and I don't want to miss it.
I am proud of what we have achieved with Berlin Thunder and grateful for the support and trust I have received over the years. I am confident that the team will continue to be successful in the future, and I look forward to following its progress as a fan.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way—especially the fans! I wish Berlin Thunder nothing but the best."
It remains to be seen who will take over as Sports Director for Berlin Thunder to help the franchise achieve its playoff goals.
