Barcelona Dragons re-sign former NFL kicker Giorgio Tavecchio

The Barcelona Dragons re-sign former NFL kicker Giorgio Tavecchio to their roster for the 2022 season, as reported by the franchise.

The former University of California-Berkeley product was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He then went on to spent time with the Green Bay Packers in 2013, the Detroit Lions in 2014, the Oakland Raiders from 2014-2017, the Atlanta Falcons in 2018, and the Tennessee Titans in 2020.

In his NFL career, Tavecchio scored 21 field goals on 26 field goal attempts. His longest field goal was a 56-yard field goal for the Raiders in 2017. In 2021 with the Dragons, the Italian scored six field goals out of nine tries including a 56-yard field goal against the Galaxy.

Tavecchio then signed with the Dragons halfway through the inaugural season of the European League of Football. Now, the Spanish franchise extends their most important player on special teams to have an edge in close games.
