As the Barcelona Dragons published on Wednesday, the previous defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Gabriel Sánchez will be the new head coach of the Barcelona Dragons for the 2023 season. The Mexican could stay as Defensive Coordinator. Andrew Weidinger, the previous head coach, had parted ways with the Barcelona Dragons by mutual agreement, but announced in an Instagram message that we will soon see him again in the league. The new coach was previously active in the highest Mexican League as a defensive coordinator and position coach. It is the first head coaching position for the Mexican.

Bart Iaccarino, General Manager of the Barcelona Dragons, values the choice of Gabriel 'Black' Sánchez: "We are delighted to be able to continue working with him, now taking on the figure of Head Coach of the team. We are sure that it will make Dragons one of the best teams in Europe.
