Austria wins against Finland in IFAF-European Championship – 46 players from ELF present

In the off-season, many players of the European League of Football are paying their fair share of playing for their home nations in national team games. Last weekend, the two best countries in Europe faced each other in the IFAF-European Championship in Austria. With the Austrian national team and the Finnish national team, 46 players from the ELF were present in this year’s final.

Two ELF players score

In front of over 6,000 fans, Austria won that battle with 28:0 against Finland, with Philipp Haun catching three touchdowns and Tobias Bonatti, both Tirol Raiders, adding another rushing touchdown. With players like Yannick Mayr (Stuttgart Surge), Jan-Phillip Bombek (Hamburg Sea Devils) or over 25 players from the Vienna Vikings, like Luis Horvath or Florian Bierbaumer, the Austrians showed self-confidence and willpower.

Players from the ELF playing for the Finnish national team were Karri Pajarinen, Elmeri Laalo, Timi Nuikka, Ville Valasti and Viljo Lempinen.
