Here is a preview of the new football movie from Universal Pictures called HIM - DER GRÖSSTE ALLER ZEITEN. The movie will be in cinemas from November 27 on.
What would you sacrifice to become the greatest of all time?
From Oscar® winner JORDAN PEELE and Monkeypaw Productions, producers of the landmark horror films Get Out, Us, Candyman and Nope, comes a chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, idolatry and the pursuit of excellence at any cost, featuring an electrifying dramatic performance from MARLON WAYANS (Air, Respect).
Former college wide-receiver TYRIQ WITHERS (Atlanta, I Know What You Did Last Summer) plays Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. As the professional football’s annual scouting Combine approaches, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.
Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White (MARLON WAYANS), a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (JULIA FOX; Uncut Gems, No Sudden Move). But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.
The film features a dynamic cast including alternative comedy legend TIM HEIDECKER (First Time Female Director, Us) as Cam’s agent, Tom; Australian comic JIM JEFFERIES (The Jim Jefferies Show) as Isaiah’s sports doctor Marco, and, in their first feature film roles: MMA heavyweight fighter MAURICE GREENE as Isaiah’s trainer, Malek; hip hop phenom AKEEM “GUAPDAD 4000” HAYES as Cam’s friend Murph, and Grammy nominee TIERRA WHACK as Isaiah and Elsie’s publicist, Adrienne.
The supporting cast also includes INDIRA G. WILSON (The Equalizer series), NAOMI GROSSMAN (American Horror Story), DON BENJAMIN (America’s Next Top Model), GERON MCKINNLEY (The Beat) and HEATHER LYNN HARRIS.
HIM is directed by JUSTIN TIPPING (Kicks) from an acclaimed Black List screenplay by ZACK AKERS & SKIP BRONKIE (creators of the sci-fi crime series Limetown) and by JUSTIN TIPPING. The film is produced by JORDAN PEELE p.g.a. (Candyman, BlacKkKlansman), WIN ROSENFELD p.g.a. (Candyman, Lovecraft Country), IAN COOPER p.g.a. (Nope, Us), and JAMAL WATSON (Hala, Sprinter) for Monkeypaw Productions and is executive produced by DAVID KERN, KATE OH, SKIP BRONKIE and ZACK AKERS.
The film’s director of photography is Emmy nominee KIRA KELLY ASC (Insecure, 13th); the production designer is JORDAN FERRER (art director Logan, Captain Marvel) and the costume designer is Emmy nominee DOMINIQUE DAWSON (Swarm, Origin). The music is by BAFTA winner BOBBY KRLIC aka The Haxan Cloak (Eddington, Beef) and the film is
edited by two-time Emmy winner TAYLOR JOY MASON ACE (A Black Lady Sketch Show, Pose). The casting is by two-time Emmy winner CARMEN CUBA CSA (Heretic, Stranger Things).
