2025 ELF Honors Predictions: Homegrown of the Year
Alex Malchow

We are continuing our week-long series predicting who might take home some hardware at the annual ELF Honors award show this year.
Homegrown player of the year is up next as we’ll examine which players were the catalysts of their team offenses. All ELF fans know a team is only as good as its homegrowns, these are the players that are the core of the league and make every weekend special.
With that being said lets take a look at my predictions for the homegrown player of the year award:
DB Aleksander Borkovic - Fehervar Enthroners
The Serbian ELF veteran has been among the league’s best defenders once again this season racking up 102 tackles and 5 tackles for a loss this season for the Enthroners. His talents may be somewhat hidden on the winless Enthroners but Borkovic continues to show why he needs to be mentioned with the leagues best week in and week out.
LB Hugo Dyrendahl - Nordic Storm
The Swede has had an excellent season in his homecoming for the Storm with 85 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, and a sack. Dyrendahl is a huge reason the Storm have a 9-1 record and are one of the championship favorites this season.
WR Louis Geyer - Stuttgart Surge
The German standout could bring home the award in his hometown. He is currently fifth in the league in receiving yards with 761 yards and 10 touchdowns on 47 catches. Geyer has been a staple of the Surge offense the last few seasons and hopes to give them the edge they need to hoist the trophy in front of thier home fans this year.
RB Justin Rodney - Munich Ravens
The veteran running back nicknamed “Mr Boxjump” has been going through, around, and over defenders all season. His 749 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns are impressive for only 9 games. He’s also added 249 receiving yards and a score there giving his 998 all purpose yards and 8 total touchdowns on the season.
DE Marek Danik - Prague Lions
The Czech defender has taken his game to a new level this year racking up 42 tackles, 8 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, and a forced fumble this season. His disruptive presence for the Lions defense has made them tough to run on all season long.
