2025 ELF Honors Predictions: Defensive Player of the Year
Alex Malchow

The ELF award predictions continue this week with my predictions for the 2025 ELF Defensive Player of the year award”. This list contains several veterans fans may know as well as some new names that have certainly turned heads this season.
LB AJ Wentland - Wroclaw Panthers
Another year in the ELF and another season of AJ Wentland leading the league in tackles. The veteran American import is once again the league’s best at bringing down ball carriers. Can he take home his first ever DPOY this season?
DE Kyle Kitchens - Hamburg Sea Devils
Can the 3X DPOY make it 4? He currently leads the league in sacks with 12.5. But one has to wonder if the Hamburg Sea Devils poor record this season will affect voters.
DE Max Parkinson - Nordic Storm
The British defender has 8 sacks and 11 tackles for a loss this season helping the Storm to a 9-1 record.
DE Lucky Ogbeveon - Vienna Vikings
The Austrian talent has returned to the Vikings this season after several stints in the ELF and spending last year in the CFL. His presence has not gone unnoticed as his quick jump off the edge has led to 6.5 sacks to go along with 46 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, and 2 forced fumbles
DB Lautaro Frecha - Prague Lions
The E-import has 5 interceptions this season leading the league in that crucial category. Several of his picks have come at key moments including a game winning interception against the Hamburg Sea Devils. He also has 32 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, along with a blocked punt.
LB Toby Naylor - Frankfurt Galaxy
The British import has been a tackling machine for the Galaxy this season with 85 tackles, a sack, and a tackle for a loss. He also has made three interceptions this season.
