Tirol Raiders replace American defensive back

The Tirol Raiders have signed American defensive back Gregory Laday to their roster!

The Tirol Raiders were forced to restructure their roster when American cornerback Jalen Embry signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL at the beginning of April. Now, the Austrian franchise has found their replacement for the American import player in former Division starter Gregory Laday.

“After losing Ja’Len Embry to the CFL, we are happy to welcome Greg [Gregory Laday],” Raiders head coach Kevin Herron commented, via the team’s press release. “He will be one of the, if not the, fastest players in the league. He is exactly what we looked for on defense.”

A Youngster with Speed

The 23-year-old defensive back has played for the Colorado State before suiting up for the Northern Colorado Bears. One year after his graduation in 2022, Laday has signed a contract with the Raiders in the European League of Football to bolster their defense.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS YET?

“I’m excited to be a part of the Raiders Tirol,” the American defensive back commented, via the team’s press release. “I’m looking forward to working hard, improving my skills, and contributing to the team’s success. I’m here to learn, grow, and give my best effort every time I step on the field.”

The 183cm tall and 87kg heavy cornerback ran an official 4.49 at his pro day at Colorado State this March. With that kind of speed, Laday looks to be a difference maker for the Raiders in 2023.
