At the Stuttgart Surge franchise, not only are the sporting plans in full swing, but also behind the scenes the owners are busy tinkering with the future. With Suni Musa, there is a new general manager in place.
A new face for the Stuttgart Surge franchise. Successful entrepreneur Suni Musa becomes general manager of Stuttgart Surge and replaces former general manager Timo Franke, who will take on a new role in the franchise.
The new general manager is looking forward to his new role. "I am looking forward to the challenges of running a business in the professional sports sector. My goals are to shape the startup into a healthy and economically strong company and to lead it into a successful future in sports," Musa explains his goals.
The franchise is the second to officially change their general managing position in the European League of Football after Berlin Thunder replaced Heiko von Glahn with Diana Hoge last year.
"We want to develop our organization sustainably. We understand the success of the young brand and the Stuttgart Surge franchise as an overall achievement of many individuals and measure ourselves by our ability to link this into a greater whole. Our "Big Picuture" appreciates the achievements and motivation of everyone involved and provides for highlighting their strengths. For the management team, it was important for us to ensure during the highly dynamic start-up phase to steer it with a steady and experienced hand into the future. With Suni Musa, we have found the perfect captain for our ship. We are looking forward to the coming years together and are already absolutely enthusiastic about his skills and personality. A real asset for our organization," communicated the owners Erwin and Martin Schmidt via a press release.
"We are trying to develop not only in terms of sport, but also in terms of management and corporate governance. That's why I'm delighted, [..] that with Suni Musa we have been able to attract such an experienced and competent entrepreneur and managing director. I not only value him personally, but he also represents what Stuttgart Surge stands for. Suni is a native of Ludwigsburg, brings with him a large network and represents a comprehensive gain for us", explained the previous incumbent Timo Franke.
Franke will remain with the franchise in operations. He will be primarily responsible for the areas of sales and sponsoring.
"Timo Franke has achieved very good results in the area of sponsorship and the results in the area of sponsoring and the development of relationships with business partners. We would like to use his skills more intensively and place him accordingly as Head of Sales and sponsoring, so that he can make a natural impact," Erwin and Martin Schmidt explain the decision.
The franchise already announced the re-signing of several coaches and players.
