The Helvetic Guards have announced former NFL cornerback Otis Smith as their defensive coordinator for the 2023 season. 

Smith played with the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and the Detroit Lions in the NFL for over 13 years. 

As a player, Otis has won Super Bowl XXXVI with the New England Patriots. During his career as an active player, Otis recorded 518 total tackles, 29 interceptions, seven touchdowns, and five-and-a-half sacks. 

The former Super Bowl champions later joined in the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff as the assistant secondary coach in 2008. Two years later, Otis also worked for the Kansas City Chiefs as their defensive control coach. 

Now, 56-year-old football coach is set to joins head coach Norm Chow and other offensive position coaches like college football legend Bob Palcic.
