After announcing former Division I and Tennessee Titans coordinator Norm Chow as their head coach for the 2023 season, the Helvetic Guards have made their next moves. 

Today, the Swiss franchise announced the signing of three offensive coaches that will join the Guards in 2023. 

Amongst them, four-time Super Bowl champion and former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Wilson. Born in 1958, Wilson was part of four Super Bowl winning teams and later joined the Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas Raiders) as a coach. 

Alongside Wilson, the Guards also signed Darius Willis as their running backs coach and Bob Palcic as their offensive line coach. Willis earned experience as a player with the New York Jets in 2013 (Training Camp) and worked as the running backs coach for the Swiss national team from 2014 to 2020. 

The Guards’ new offensive line coach started his coaching career in 1978 and already coached for multiple college programs like Wisconsin, Ohio State, and USC. From 1994 on, Palcic found himself as the offensive line coach for the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns. He later worked as a tight end coach for the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints until 2005. 

With Norm Chow as their head coach and the new three offensive coaches set, the Guards are slowly but steadily building an impressive coaching staff for their first season in the European League of Football.
