Frankfurt Galaxy announces Flag Football youth project

Frankfurt Galaxy is getting much more involved in youth work in the coming season: On April 27th, 2023, the first flag football training session will start at the Louise-von-Rotschild-Schule in Frankfurt, one of the participating schools in the Frankfurt Galaxy's youth project.
Frankfurt to host the flag football "Galaxy Bowl"
The weekly training takes place as part of a optional school club, so it is not a mandatory part of lessons for the students. To provide an incentive for the participating schools, Frankfurt Galaxy is hosting the first "Galaxy Bowl" before the home game on June 24th against the Paris Musketeers. Six schools from the Rhine-Main region will compete against each other in flag football to secure the title. The project manager of the Galaxy Flag Football school program is Daniel "DJ" Josiah, linebacker for the Frankfurt Galaxy.

"The program is a central building block of the Galaxy in Frankfurt and, as a non-contact and injury-free version of American football, is aimed particularly at children and young people. It is another example of the Galaxy's ongoing commitment to promoting the sport in Germany," said Eric Reutemann, general manager of the Frankfurt Galaxy.
Back in 2017, Daniel Josiah founded the American Football Federation Ghana (AFFG) during a voluntary social project in Ghana. The founding member still accompanies the project in Africa today. The experience he has gained so far helps him to implement the Frankfurt Galaxy's youth project.
