The Leipzig Kings sign former Barcelona Dragons standout defensive player Myke Tavarres to their roster for the 2022 season, as the franchise reported.

Myke [Tavarres] is a tenacious tackler and gifted with the best closing speed in space that I have seen in a long time”, Kings head coach Fred Armstrong commented on the signing. He added: “The most impressive stat is, he makes so many tackles for loss yards. Myke [Tavarres] was in the top three defensive players in our league last year. So, [a] major pick up for our Kings”.

Tavarres led the Dragons with 99 total tackles and 16 tackles for loss in 2021. He also recorded two-and-a-half sacks and defended two passes. Those impressive stats led him to be the runner-up for the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Now, the former NFL outside linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles will team up with fellow American A.J. Wentland, New Zealander Lance Leota and other standout defensive players for the Kings in 2022.
