Madrid Bravos sign former Michigan State offensive coordinator Dave Warner

University of Kansas, University of Wyoming, Michigan State University, and the list goes on. After 40 years of NCAA Div I experience, Dave Warner joins the Madrid Bravos in the ELF as the first ever offensive coordinator. Hiring Rip Scherer as the head coach the day before and adding Warner to the coaching staff brings a lot of experience into the Spanish capital.

Madrid Bravos Sporting Director Carlos Perez-Somarriba expressed his enthusiasm for Dave Warner's arrival to the team, stating, "We are excited to welcome Dave Warner as our new Offensive Coordinator. His proven track record in developing talent and creating effective offenses is an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to his experience and leadership in leading the Madrid Bravos to great achievements in the European League of Football and establishing a high performance program in the city of Madrid".

Taking over the Spanish capital

Warner worked last with the UTEP Miners as the offensive coordinator from 2021 to 2023, averaging 393 yards of total offense in 2021. With Michigan State, he was part of one of the best offenses the university had in history. 2014, the Spartans set numerous school records in points, scoring and touchdowns. Having coached in 16 bowl games in his career, Warner takes over a yet unknown offense in Madrid.

Countless players like NFL pro Kirk Cousins, Bryan Hoyer or Jack Conklin were coached by Warner, also including ELF-running back phenomenon Madre London or Surge wide receiver Darrell Stewart Jr.
