Hamburg Sea Devils re-sign Hiswill Awuah

The Hamburg born giant is back in 2022 to go on the hunt for the Hamburg Sea Devils. A talent in the making.

Nose Tackle and Hamburg youngster Hiswill Awuah will also play for the Hamburg Sea Devils in the coming season! With 14 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery, the 21-year-old earned the starting nose tackle spot of Brice Ulrich Tchouadje and with it the hearts of the fans.

"My decision was relatively easy because we owe it to our fans and the city to bring the trophy to its rightful place" explains Awuah optimistically in the Hamburg Sea Devils press release.

Monster in the trenches

Weighing more than 130 kg at a height of 1.80 m, the German with Ghanaian roots is not only responsible for stopping the run, but also sacking the passer and bringing pressure.

His coach and defensive coordinator Kendral Ellison thinks highly of the top talent. "Hiswill was the team's 'Rookie of the Year.' He earned his starting spot over the year and is a player that is very hard to move at the line. He will still be able to develop and has a bright future ahead of him" raves Kendral Ellisson about the heavyweight.

Working for his community

Hiswill is one of the youngest players in the league and was nominated for "Defensive Rookie of the Year" in the league last year. His size and strength definitely helped the Sea Devils reach the final in Frankfurt.

Hiswill not only keeps his defensive line together, but also his community. The football player volunteers on the side as a social worker in his neighborhood.
