From June 1, there will be 20 episodes of the comedy series "Food Balls"

It will be colorful, shrill and very entertaining! Germany's football hero Kasim Edebali has mastered his first starring role as an actor with flying colors. In the series "Food-Balls -Fresh, Hot & Crispy," the ex-NFL pro plays a delicatessen delivery man for Hamburg's "Fischereihafen-restaurant“ and meets customers who are as prominent as they are eccentric.

When Udo Lindenberg, Dieter Bohlen and Bruce Darnell are at a party at the "Mundsburg Tower," the messenger should better hurry up. But comedian Jörg Knör is waiting for him at the door, and he's so hungry that he has to divide his growling stomach among several characters. To the confusion of Kasim Edebali, who is on unfamiliar terrain, and had to master even more challenges.

Whether Revolverheld frontman Johannes Strate, the TV presenters Oliver Geissen and Steven Gätjen, the rappers Milonair and Pimf, the professional athletes Moritz Fürste, Matti Steinmann, Michael Smolik and Imke Salander, the Youtuber Krappi, music journalist Niko "Backspin" Hüls, Towers boss Marvin Willoughby, digital "pope" Philipp Westermeyer or Patrick Esume - they will all be appearing as guest stars in "Food-Balls - Fresh, Hot & Crispy" from June 1 to 20.

On each of these days, an episode will be published on the Youtube, Facebook and Instagram channels of the European League of Football as well as on ran.de. The comedy series was produced by the Munich-based company All-in-production, directed by Michael Popescu, with Rafael Alberto Garciolo as the head writer. The filming locations were "Fischereihafen- Restaurant" and "Mundsburg Tower", as well as the cross community space "Hamburger Ding" on the Reeperbahn, the flagship store of the multichannel optician Edel-Optics, the Elbgym and the headquarters of the European League of Football.

"I had a lot of fun on the set. The production team was great, I had some really great actors and actresses at my side, and the celebrity guests also fulfilled their roles with enthusiasm. They are all 'Vollmaschinen' for me. When my body can no longer cope with being on the field, I'm drawn back to the camera. I really hope that people like our series. But I'm not worried about that," said Kasim Edebali at the end of the four-week shoot.

But for now, the fan favorite is turning his focus to the Hamburg Sea Devils, who will start June 20 with a home game against Frankfurt Galaxy at the Hoheluft stadium into the inaugural season of the European League of Football. With Berlin Thunder, Cologne Centurions, Stuttgart Surge, Leipzig Kings, Barcelona Dragons and Panthers Wroclaw six other teams are taking part in the continental league this summer.
