Miller: “The preparation is going great!”

The US Federation National Team has two high-caliber quarterbacks that will take on the European League of Football All-Star Team on Sunday. With former LSU star-quarterback Josh Booty, a former NFL player will visit the capital of Germany. The US Federation National Team also features former Florida Atlantic University quarterback Conor Miller.

"A huge honor"

“In any sport it’s a huge honor to represent your country, and I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to do so while competing against some incredible players from the European League of Football”, Miller commented. When asked what the fans can expect from the All-Star Game, he touched upon the talent on both sides of the ball: “ I believe the fans will really enjoy watching lots of talented players from all over compete on the same field”.

The US Federation National Team has a lot of talented players from universities and colleges all over the United States. So, Miller is excited about his weapons at wide receiver and tight end: “We have a talented group of receivers and tight end, headlined by Seantavius Jones and Dan Knapp. It’s been really fun to work with them and build chemistry over these few practices”. Miller also weighed in on fellow American quarterback Josh Booty: “It’s been really fun working with Josh Booty too, he’s a really smart guy and is a legendary quarterback, I’ve learned a ton from him”. “The preparation is going great! Coach [Rudy] Wyland and Coach [Noel] Mazzone have done a great job of creating an atmosphere of having fun while also learning and getting better. It’s been one of the most fun weeks of practice I’ve ever had, and I’m actually sad that we won’t get to spend more time together”, Miller commented on the two weeks of practice the US Federation National Team had in Hamburg before taking on the European League of Football All-Star Team in Berlin this Sunday.

New challenge ahead?

When asked if the European League of Football is a possibility for him in the future, Miller explained his focus on the All-Star Game and the success he had with the Graz Giants: “I would definitely consider the possibility. I haven’t thought too much about next season yet, my focus has been on Team USA and getting ready for the game. I couldn’t have asked for a better time than I had last year with the Graz Giants, and it’s really going to have to be the perfect situation for me to leave, but the only place I could see that happening would be the European League of Football”.

In our conversation, Miller spoke highly of the European League of Football and believes the league has a bright future: “I’m incredibly impressed by the ELF. I think the league has done a tremendous job with the marketing, presentation, and most importantly the product. Every player that I’ve talked to has nothing but positive things to say about their experience in the league, and how professionally it’s run. I believe that the ELF is going to grow exponentially in the future, and I could even see it one day surpassing the CFL as the best league outside of the NFL. Being part of the league is very very intriguing“.
