Quarterback Chad Jeffries aims to help the Munich Ravens soar higher in 2024

After a successful first season of the expansion franchise, Jeffries and the Munich Ravens have big plans for 2024.

The Munich Ravens were one of the surprises for the ELF last season as they finished their first-ever season with an impressive 7-5 record, narrowly missing the postseason. Not bad for the new kids on the block. One of the keys to their success in year one was veteran quarterback Chad Jeffries, who after years of playing in the Austrian Football League reminded fans, analysts, and opponents alike that he cannot only play at Europe’s highest level, but better yet, he can be one of the ELF's best.

Jeffries commanded a high-flying Ravens offense in 2023

Jeffries, 31, finished the season ranked number two on the ELF’s top 100 players, finishing with an impressive 3,535 yards and 30 touchdowns. More importantly, he orchestrated a high-flying and entertaining Munich offense that put up 35 points a game, good for second behind the Rhein Fire. The successful 2023 campaign led Jeffries to be named a Second-Team All-Star and an MVP nominee.

The California native has been playing in Europe since 2016 with stints in the German Football League and several seasons in the Austrian Football League. Now, the young father and Ravens quarterback hopes his play in 2024 can help the Ravens make strides in year two, as Munich’s talented roster has set expectations even higher for this summer.

Joe Thomas and new talent join the flocks passing game

The savvy veteran leads an exciting Ravens offense that now features new receiver John Cole as well as ELF veteran Lorenz Regler. Upfront, Jeffries will be protected by new offensive linemen Marlon Werthman and Leander Weigand, who joined the Ravens eager to be coached by NFL Hall of Famer Joe Thomas. Accompanying Jeffries once again in the backfield will be ELF All-Star running back Tomiwa Oyewo.

One would imagine that Jeffries and Ravens take another step forward in year two, despite the loss of last year’s leading receiver Markell Castle. Fans can expect Raven's offense to once again be on the league's most fun to watch as Jeffries leads Munich into a season where many experts see them as dark horse title contenders.
