The 11-1 Hamburg Sea Devils will take on the 8-4 Raiders Tirol in the European League of Football semi-final at Stadion Hoheluft on Saturday

The playoff semi-final between the Hamburg Sea Devils and the Raiders Tirol will be a fun one for many reasons. Two of the best teams in Europe will be fighting for a trip to Klagenfurt and a shot at the European League of Football championship on September 25th.

Two of the best teams

The most intriguing factor might be that the teams have never played each other before. A game that will be decided in the trenches since both teams have strong offensive lines and even better defensive lines.

The Sea Devils will have the home advantage. “The 12th man will be here, and we know how our fans can help the team. I expect a big crowd and we are looking forward to it,” said Hamburg head coach Charles “Yogi” Jones in an interview.

"They have to tackle Glen Toonga"

When asked about running back and kick returner C.J. Okpalobi Jones said: "He is a good skill athlete. He has good ball skills and good quickness. He is a guy that makes you have to play at a high level and make sure your fits are good and your tackling is strong.”

But Jones is optimistic about their own run game as well: "They have to tackle Glen Toonga. We have a very strong and athletic line that has the ability to move people and make holes for Glen. To see our line come together and play as a unit, they are formidable themselves.”

All things considered fans can expect an epic showdown between two of Europe’s greatest teams in the rainy weather of Hamburg. Who can come out on top and punch their ticket to Klagenfurt? Find out on Saturday 2:45 pm on TV or live at the stadium.
