After two hard fought scores from both teams the Vikings defense forced a fumble leading to a Vikings field goal. Later just before the half, Paris quarterback Jaylon Henderson was kicked out of the game and back up quarterback Hugo Tekedam was picked off by Amanni Dennis for a 39-yard interception touchdown changing the game. Following the defensive score, Vienna entered the half with a 18-12 lead.
Jaylon Henderson's toughness shines bright
After both teams traded field goals in the 3rd quarter the score was 21-15 for Vienna. Henderson re-entered the game and fought through an eye injury. The tough quarterback converted a clutch fourth down to start the fourth quarter. He followed that up with a touchdown run after Vikings ran into the Paris kicker.
However, Mathy's Dupoint missed the extra point tying the game at 21. The Musketeers ran the ball in final period well as Jason Bofunda and Nicholas Khandar both broke big runs.
Thrilling final two minutes
On a crucial 3rd down Jason Bofunda broke free for a touchdown giving the 27-21 lead. Henderson then ran in a 2-point conversion in a gutsy call by Luke Del Rio, giving the Musketeers a 29-21 eight point lead.
Vikings quarterback Ben Holmes took over with under two minutes left and drove Vienna the length of the field with big completions to Yannik Mayr and Florian Bierbaumer. Holmes then targeted Reece horn drawing a defensive pass interference penalty giving the Viking the ball at the one yard line.
From there Vienna quarterback Ben Holmes called his own number scoring a touchdown on a quarterback sneak to make it a two-point game. To tie the game Holmes found Horn who bullied his way into the endzone to tie the game.
Overtime drama
In Overtime the Vikings got the ball first and Holmes kept it himself converting a clutch 4th down for a touchdown. However, the Vikings missed the extra point. Essentially, giving Paris a chance to win the game with a score and extra point.
The Vikings defense made things extremely tough on Paris. After an initial first down run from Henderson, the Vikings had Paris down to the wire on 4th & 9. On the final play of the game the Vikings forced an incomplete pass to win the game in overtime.
That game ends the season for the Paris Musketeers as they finish with a 7-5 record and will not make the post-season. The Vikings secured the top seed in the playoffs securing the road to Stuttgart will go through Vienna.
