Wrocław Panthers find their quarterback

Nikolas Rango will lead the Panthers into their third season in the European League of Football.

After having four different players under center in the 2022 season, one of the focal points for new Wrocław Panthers head coach Dave Christensen had to be consistency at the quarterback position.

Career affected by tumultuous circumstances

Nikolas Rango played one season at Hudson Valley Community College. As an instant starter Nik, as his teammates call him, finished the season with over 2000 passing yards and 13 touchdowns.

The New York native was supposed to transfer to the University of Albany, but the Division I school’s season got canceled due to COVID-19. Therefore, Rango did nottransfer to Albany but left college all togetherto play in the Major League of Football. Due to financial struggles the league’s inaugural season got postponed multiple times, the promising quarterback was without a destination to play football at.

Since then, Rango participated in several CFL and XFL tryouts while staying in shape and training with HUB Football. The 2023 European League of Football season with the Wrocław Panthers will be his first season of organized football since 2020.
