Weekly Roundup: Berlin Thunder add talented players and more

The Berlin Thunder had one of the busiest weeks of all teams in the European League of Football.

The last seven days in the European League of Football were full of news and headlines. Some teams re-signed important players from last year. Others found new athletes who could have a great impact on the upcoming season!

The Dragons re-signed defensive linemen Axel Irigoite and Elvys Nuñez. The Spanish franchise also announced the hiring of offensive line coach Guiliano Cattaneo.

The Thunder added a lot of talented players over the last week. German running back Tim Schulz, German wide receiver Willi Dill, German wide receiver Philipp Schuhmann, Swedish linebacker Ludvig Myrén, and German linebacker Simon Leinauer will join the Berlin franchise for the 2022 season.

The Thunder also re-signed defensive linemen Nick Rudloff and Cedric Outtara.

The Centurions signed Greek offensive lineman Leon Savvas Michailidis to their roster for the 2022 season.

The Galaxy re-signed defensive linemen Mamadou Sy and Cedric Udegbe. In addition, the German franchise re-signed wide receiver Hendrik Schwarz and signed German cornerback Karim Ben El Ghali.

The reigning European League of Football champion also announced that the PSD Bank Arena will once again be their homefield in 2022.

The Sea Devils signed German linebacker Lars Lennard Bardenhagen and re-signed defensive back Barry Maruscke. The Hamburg franchise also re-signed offensive lineman Gian DeGuzman, defensive back Johosaphat Kendrick Danso, and offensive lineman Dennis Kenzler.

The Kings signed running back Oliver Bahr and fullback Morten Runne to strengthen their backfield. The Leipzig franchise also signed offensive linemen Lucas Thiem and Felix Lepper.

The Rhein Fire were able to sign the most productive wide receiver of 2021 to their roster: Timothy Knuettel. On top of that, the German franchise signed wide receiver Domenik Rofalski.

Rhein Fire also hired Timur Beckmann as the recruiting coordinator and offensive quality control manager. Sascha Spils will take over as the assistant offensive line coach and Erkan Tezkol as the defensive line and strength and conditioning coach.

The Vikings also had a busy week of signings. Austrian wide receiver Florian Bierbaumer will join theVikings in 2022 alongside offensive linemen Lukas Holub, Clemens Walz, and Matthew Daltrey.

The Vikings also started to sell season tickets for their first season in the European League of Football.
