Week 13 Recap – Vikings win top matchup and more

The Vienna Vikings came away with the win against the Barcelona Dragons in a top matchup of two conference leaders!

Wroclaw Panthers (4-7) @ Hamburg Sea Devils (10-1)

The Sea Devils dominated the Panthers at home with a final score of 17-0. Although the Hanseatic franchise was partly stopped through the air, their running game was as dominated as ever with over 200 rushing yards on 39 attempts.

Leading rusher Glen Toonga produced 175 out of the 287 total rushing yards for the Sea Devils, leaving the Panthers with no chance.

The Sea Devils just showed once more who is ruling the North Conference!

Raiders Tirol (7-4) @ Frankfurt Galaxy (7-4)

This matchup had it all. It was a do-or-die game for the Galaxy who barely came away with the win at the end. With a final score of …, the Galaxy stay in playoff contention.

The Raiders dominated on special teams with over 200 kick return yards to only under 50 return yards by the Galaxy. But the Galaxy showed their qualities in the passing game with over 300 passing yards by Jakeb Sullivan.

But with just two minutes on the clock, the Raiders scored once more to bring up the score to 33-36 favoring the Galaxy. As the Galaxy tried to score another touchdown to be up by seven points over the Raiders to have a better chance in Week 14 to advance to the playoffs.

Now, the Raiders have everything in their own hands. With a win in Berlin next week, they automatically advance to the playoffs.

Barcelona Dragons (8-3) @ Vienna Vikings (10-1)

The top team of the South Conference and the top team of the Central Conference battled it out once again. This time, the Vienna Vikings came away with the win once again with a final score of 24-18.

After a league-high 17 penalties against the Rams in Week 12, the Vikings were able to play a more disciplined game with only six penalties for a loss of 73 yards.

The Barcelona Dragons were shut down by the Vikings again with only 68 rushing yards and three out of 12 converted third downs.

Will these teams see each other again in the playoffs?

Leipzig Kings (3-8) @ Stuttgart Surge (0-11)

Unfortunately for the Surge, they stood no chance against the visiting Leipzig Kings. Over 400 offensive yards for quarterback Gabriel Cunningham and two receiving touchdowns by Seantavius Jones were just too much for the Surge.

But the Surge also rotated players around and tried Janis Kaiser at the quarterback position, and American quarterback Dante Vandeven and cornerback Malcom Washington at wide receiver. With this wild mix of positions, the Surge just used this contest to try out different players on multiple positions to make better player personnel decisions this offseason.

At the end, the Kings dominated the Surge with a final score of 38-0 .
