Vienna Vikings sign youngster Alexander Reischl as backup quarterback

The Austrian franchise has found their backup quarterback!

The Vienna Vikings reportedly have signed Austrian quarterback Alexander Reischl to their2022 roster.

The 19-year-old quarterback is excited to be part of the Vikings, as he stated in an interview: “The Vikings put together a strong team for the first season in the European League of Football and I’m happy to be part of it”. Reischl added: “The best of the continent play in the European League of Football and it is a great opportunity for me to bring my game to the next level and to develop as a player on and off the field”.

The 172cm tall and 72kg heavy athlete started to play football in 2015 for the Salzburg Ducks and from that point on tried to polish his game. Now, he joins the Vikings and starting quarterback Jackson Erdmann in the best American football league in Europe.

 “The European League of Football presents opportunities for young players to compete against higher levels of talent from around Europe”, Vikings head coach Calaycay noted. He continued: “Giving home grown players like Alexander the opportunity to grow as a quarterback, throwing to top wide receivers every practice and going against defensive backs at this level will allow expedite his goals to be a national team quarterback. We are excited to add QB2 to the roster for the 2022 season”.
