Top Signings of the Week – Ravens take flight with QB1 and more

Do you wonder what players were the real steals this past week? Then this is just the right place for you!

The European League of Football heads towards its third season. All 18 franchises are looking for the best players available in Europe and from around the world. But what franchise won this past week with its mind-blowing signings?

Vikings extend big-bodied touchdown machine

The Vienna Vikings used this wide receiver slash tight end only at the beginning of last season because of a serious injury. But in 2023, the 198cm tall and 116kg heavy pass catcher Florian Bierbaumer will return stronger than ever.

In 2022, Bierbaumer caught 12 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns in three games he played in. All of his touchdowns came against the Raiders Tirol in Week 1 of last season alone.

By averaging over 15 yards per reception in all three games of last season, a healthy Bierbaumer should be a problem for opposing teams all season long in 2023!

Panthers sign human highlight reel at wideout

The Panthers did it again. Time and time again, the Polish franchise is able to find explosive, tough, and most importantly talented players overseas. Their latest signing to fill one of their four American import spots is wide receiver Brenton Martin.

Although Martin played Division III college football at UMBH in Texas compared to other American players with Division I experience, the explosive and versatile wide receiver is no one to mess with.

By using his rare combination of speed and agility, Martin can play several different positions on the field and is hard to gameplan against. As I pointed out, the Panthers are scouting through all levels of football for finding the right players to succeed on the highest level of American football in Europe! And after wide receiver and returner KaVontae Turpin, who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL, Martin could be the next game-wrecker on their roster.

Ravens take flight with experienced QB1

The Ravens have found their starting quarterback for their first season in the European League of Football. Chad Jeffries will lead the Ravens into the battle next season.

Since 2018, Jeffries started for the Danube Dragons in the Austrian Football League and is known as one of the best and most experienced quarterbacks on the continent of Europe.

In his four season with the Dragons, Jeffries passed for over 10,000 yards, has thrown 107 touchdown passes compared to only 18 interceptions, and rushed for extra 15 touchdowns on the ground.

Jeffries cues himself into a long line of prolific passers in the European League of Football. In my opinion, he could be in the top three when the 2023 season ends if he has the right supporting cast around him.

However, with experienced wide receivers like Marvin Rutsch and six quality offensive lineman already under contract for the Bavarian team, Jeffries looks poised to help the Ravens take flight in their first season on the biggest stage for American football in Europe!
