Top Signings of the Week – Musketeers make a move at running back

Do you wonder what players were the real steals this past week? Then this is just the right place for you!

The European League of Football heads towards its third season. All 17 franchises are looking for the best players available in Europe and from around the world. But what franchise won this past week with its mind-blowing signings?

Prague Lions sign duo of impact players

The Prague Lions are once again on my list of top signings this week. This time, the Czech franchise convinced me with their signing of American defensive lineman James Brooks. Despite his age (34), the talented defender is able to impress with his playmaking ability between the trenches. With the Lions starting their first year in the European League of Football, the franchise should immensely profit from Brooks’ experience in international American football.

Next to Brooks, the Lions have signed wide receiver, defensive back, and returner Brandon Butler. The German-American playmaker will only count as an E-Import for the Lions which brings the value of this signing to a maximum. Butler was the number one kick returner in the German Football League for the Frankfurt Universe back in 2021 and also finished with the fifth-most all-purpose yards that season. Look for Butler and Brooks to be important leaders for the Czech franchise that mostly consists of relatively young players so far.

Raiders extend youngster with incredible upside

The Raiders land on my list once again. The signing of former NFL International Combine attendee Lucky Ogbevoen is too good to pass up. The 22-year-old linebacker has all the athletic tools to make the next step in 2023. With his 190cm and 101kg, Ogbevoen combines size and athleticism which even impressed international NFL scouts.

Last season, the Austrian defender put up 79 total tackles, one-and-a-half sacks, and ten tackles for loss. Look out for him to top his production in every single one of those categories this upcoming season.

Paris Musketeers lock up ultra-athletic running back

The Paris Musketeers have to be on this list after signing French running back Meril Zéro. The offensive playmaker earned All-Star honors in the German Football League last season because of his immense production. In ten games, the Frenchmen put up 846 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

For the Musketeers, signing him was a no-brainer. Paired together with former Dragons’ quarterback Zach Edwards and triple-crown winner Kyle Sweet, the Musketeers slowly but surely come up with an impressive offensive attack for the 2023 season.
