Top Signings of the Week – A French legend returns

Do you wonder what players were the real steals this past week? Then this is just the right place for you!

The European League of Football heads towards its third season. All 17 franchises are looking for the best players available in Europe and from around the world. But what franchise won this past week with its mind-blowing signings?

There were not a lot of signings this past week. But two players that were introduced by their teams are going to be difference makers!

French legend comes out of retirement to join Musketeers

Stephen Yepmo. A name not too many European football fans will be familiar with. But in France, the 33-year-old running back is a legend. Playing for the Thonon Black Panthers and the French national team over the past years, Yepmo showed off power, athleticism, and determination once he got the ball in his hands.

Coming out of retirement to join the Paris Musketeers in their first year of the European League of Football, the French franchise forms one, if not the best, running back corps entirely out of homegrown players. Stopping Yepmo paired up with Méril Zero and Jason Aguemon will be a tough challenge for defenses. And do not forget that former Dragons’ quarterback Zach Edwards has some wheels as well.

Raiders extend youngster on defense

On Tuesday, the Raiders announced the extension of one of their best upcoming players. Cornerback Christoph Nitzlnader will be back in silver and black for the 2023. The 21-year-old athlete is amongst the best young defenders the European League of Football has to offer.

In 2022, Nitzlnader recorded 32 total tackles, four pass breakups, three tackles for loss and forced a fumble while only starting three of eleven games he appeared in. The young Austrian has immense upside heading into his third season for the Raiders and his second season playing in the European League of Football.
