NFL scout and pro football coach for the Saxons!
When it comes to developing and scouting young players, there is hardly anyone who has as much experience as Joe Bommarito. From 2000 to 2012, the US American worked as a scout for the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL). In the inaugural season of the European League of Football, which begins on June 19, the 64-year-old will support the Leipzig Kings under head coach Fred Armstrong in the position of Defensive Coordinator.
Since 2014, the expert has coached European football teams and gained particular recognition as head coach of the Milano Rhinos, Torino Jaguars and Padova Saints in Italy. With the Leipzig Kings Bommarito wants to take the next step and make it to the top of the European League of Football and thus European football by doing so.
"First of all I’m very excited to be with the Leipzig Kings organization and to be able to work with Coach Armstrong. My immediate goal is to install the defense and be ready for the first game. After 2 practices I can see we have some very talented players. I look to take advantage of their skill sets and be able put them in a position to be successful", says Joe Bommarito about his work with the Leipzig Kings and adds: "I have a good feeling about this team. They are smart, eager to learn, and want to get better. I see a bright future for the Kings under Coach Armstrong’s leadership."
As a longtime NFL scout, NFL and college football analyst, and college and pro football coach Joe Bommarito brings enough skills to move the Leipzig Kings team forward. In addition to the offense, the defense is expected to do its part as well in the team's June 20 opener in the European League of Football at Berlin Thunder.
