Former Centurions head coach Roser signs with Raiders

The Raiders have found a new running back coach, and it is an old acquaintance of the European League of Football.

Frank Roser parted ways with his Cologne Centurions at the beginning of September, but we will see him on the sidelines again next year. According to the Tirol Raiders, Frank Roser will take on the role of running backs coach, breathwork and mental coach in the future, thus continuing a passion.

A rather disappointing season with Cologne

At the Centurions, Frank Roser was the head coach of the 2022 season. With quarterback Jan Weinreich, Roser initially won two games, then lost nine games in a row to win another. Most of all, the poor season performance was due to the one-dimensionality of the offense and the poor performance of the defense. Roser resigned without any bad blood.

"I've met a lot of great people here in Cologne, and I'm very grateful for that. I will keep these things in my heart. I have decided to step down as head coach and return to my home country for the time being. I want to pursue my passion and self-employment in breathwork and coaching first," Roser announced. Three months later, breathwork and football remains.

Old friends back together

Interestingly, he has a familiar person in head coach Kevin Herron both on the sidelines and on the field. "I'm very excited to join one of the top organizations and football teams in Europe. Kevin Herron is a good friend of mine that I played for and also coached within the past. I look forward to working with him and also some of my former teammates when I played here. I love coaching and I will give my very best to help the Raiders organization to grow and get better on and off the field," Roser said.

For Kevin Herron, head coach of the Raiders, it comes full circle: "I've known Coach Roser for a long time. I've also been trying to get him to come to Tyrol for a long time. Finally, everything fell into place. He will be a great help for Coach Callahan, but an even greater help for the team as a mental coach. Without question, he brings a lot of positive energy to the coaching staff and the team. I have high hopes for his breathwork and can't wait to see the results."

He has a successful young offensive coordinator in Kyle Callahan ahead of him, who has already made a mark as Assistant Coach of the Year 2022. Roser, who has already visited several stations in the Munich area and was also active at the University of Texas El Paso, can now keep a low profile as a running back coach.
