Down, set, hut! The European League of Football kicks off its premiere season on June 19, and right from the start it's: No gameday without Chio! The brand from the Cologne-based Intersnack Group will be the official main sponsor of the new continental football league. The cooperation is initially set to run until the end of the 2024 season.
"We are very proud to have such a strong and established partner in Intersnack. In recent years, Chio has positioned itself as a leading snack brand among football fans with various campaigns. The slogan 'We love Football' will now be brought to life by both parties," says Zeljko Karajica, Managing Partner of the European League of Football.
Chio receives the title and communication rights and acquires a comprehensive service package including presenting the live broadcasts on ProSieben MAXX and the streaming offers, presence on LED and static boards in the stadiums as well as branding on the front of the helmets of all teams. There will also be various promotions, including a draw for exclusive seats on the "Chio Celebration Couch" right on the edge of the pitch.
"We are very excited about the partnership with the European League of Football. On the one hand, we are expanding our successful strategy around American football with our innovative measures, and on the other hand, it feels like a family reunion. After all, Patrick Esume is not only the commissioner of this league, but has also been our brand ambassador and partner since 2018," says Katja Johannson, Marketing Director at Intersnack.
It's no wonder that "Coach" Esume is also happy to have Chio as the main sponsor of the European League of Football. "With this, we have found a perfect partner for our league. This is not only a good deal, but a matter of the heart. Together with Chio, we will always come up with great formats for football fans, I'm sure of that," says the Commissioner of the European League of Football, looking ahead to the collaboration.
In the premiere season, which begins on June 19 and ends with the Championship Game in the MERKUR SPIEL Arena in Düsseldorf on September 26, eight teams from three nations will compete. From Germany, Berlin Thunder, Hamburg Sea Devils, Frankfurt Galaxy, Cologne Centurions, Stuttgart Surge and Leipzig Kings are at the start. The Barcelona Dragons from Spain and the Panthers Wroclaw from Poland complete the field of participants.
