Combine Preview – NFL fullback and Surge co-owner Jakob Johnson looking for local athletes
Over 150 athletes will run through combine drills in Stuttgart this Saturday!
Speed, strength, agility, endurance, and much more. The Stuttgart Surge will look for all the important traits of an American Football athlete to join their team for the 2022 season in the European League of Football.
This Saturday, April 9th, the Surge will conduct a combine to possibly find some impact players for their team. According to the German franchise, over 150 athletes already registered to attend the event.
As mentioned in the team’s press release, Las Vegas Raiders fullback and Surge co-owner Jakob Johnson will be present at the combine as well. The Stuttgart-native will address fans and athletes before the combine kicks off at 11am.
This time last year, current NFL International Player Pathway Program invitee Marcel Dabo put on a show at the Surge combine and fought his way onto the 2021 roster. Now, the German athlete is already impressing NFL scouts in Arizona with his athletic skillset to possibly join the best league of American Football in the world, the NFL.
It remains to be seen if the Surge will find a “Dabo 2.0” this year. In any case, the combine will be an entertaining event for Stuttgart’s coaching staff, the attending athletes, and the fans!
As mentioned in the team’s press release, the combine can be attended by fans at the Bezirkssportanlage Waldau in Stuttgart starting at 11am this Saturday. There will be no entrance fee and tickets, as well as merchandise, will be on sale as well.
