Cologne Centurions sign Division I running back Tre King

After losing last years’ MVP Madre London, the Cologne Centurions signed his successor today.

Tre King will be the go-to guy in Colognes’ backfield for 2022. The former Texas Tech running back had a solid career as a Red Raider rushing for over 600 yards and 5 touchdowns in his junior season. Unfortunately, the 1,83m tall running back missed his senior season due to a knee injury and the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore missed out on his chance to play at thenext level.

Good addition for the backfield

After joining the Centurions, the 25-year-old is challenged with the task of replacing European League ofFootball rushing leader Madre London. Although King convinces with his elusiveness and his high speed, it is unlikely that he will match his predecessors 2177 yards and 23 touchdowns. But even if he fails to match Londons’ production, he is an upgrade over the Centurions’ current backfield and a player the fanbase should be excited for.

Wide receiver and running back

"It's a great opportunity for me to do special things. To present myself as a professional/elite player and also to get the chance to work with great coaches and teammates. This is exactly the athletic environment I need." Tre King is looking forward to his commitment in the Cathedral City.

"I am very happy that Tre King is now a Centurion," Cologne's head coach Frank Roser is pleased. "He is avery explosive and physical player who has shown at the top college football level what he is made of. We had a great conversation about football and life and I'm very excited that he's going to suit up as a Centurion."

And Cologne's General Manager David Drane adds, "Tre is a great athlete who can play both running back and wide receiver. He played football at a very high level at Texas Tech College. He rounds out our American import positions for 2022. We all can't wait until the season opens!"
