Veteran Zach Edwards leads Paris into a pivotal year two - Can Edwards and the Musketeers grow into title contenders in 2024?

Zach Edwards looks to bring the Paris Musketeers to the playoffs and beyond in year two in the French Capital.

On November 30th 2022, The expansion Paris franchise sent shock waves through the European League of Football signing MVP finalist and the ELF’s all-time leading passer in quarterback Zachary Edwards. Fresh off of an MVP-worthy season with the Barcelona Dragons, Edwards joined Paris head coach Marc Mattiloli taking a chance on the expansion Musketeers franchise for the 2023 season.

Year one in the books

Edwards, who has been a starting quarterback in all three seasons of the European League Football was a decisive leader behind center for Paris in 2023 guiding them through their first-ever season. The experienced quarterback passed for over three thousand yards and 30 touchdowns. The Musketeers, however, didn't quite find their stride on the field until later in the year finishing the season on a four-game win streak and ending the season with a 6-6 record. Now, Edwards and the 2024 Musketeers hope to take a significant jump in year two of the program:

Edwards and the Musketeers offense aims to make noise in 2024

The Musketeers offense has certainly retooled for the upcoming season adding speedy receiver Austin Mitchell as well as homegrown French standout Anthony Mahoungou, giving Edwards new exciting weapons to target. The plethora of talent on Paris’s roster and his experience last year made it a no-brainer for Edwards to return to Musketeers for the 2024 season.

Zach Edwards has a mission in Paris: "I felt like there was unfinished business here in Paris. Being as we were a new franchise last year it was an amazing experience to build what we did last year, made some amazing friendships and really created a brotherhood that I am very excited to continue to grow."

Before coming to the Barcelona Dragons in 2021, the Minnesota native had a record-setting collegiate career at St. Scholastica College (NCAA: Division III). Throwing for a school-record 90 touchdowns and 9,024 yards in 36 games with the Saints, earning three straight all-conference honors in his career.
