Sunday Recap: Paris and Stuttgart show contender status

Paris show off offensive fireworks in 60-25 win

The Paris Musketeers put on a show for their fans at home putting up 60 points in a dominant Western Conference win over Cologne. After an early pick six, Musketeers quarterback Zach Edwards and the Paris offense shook off the rust following a bye week to put on their best performance of the year so far. Edwards dazzled, throwing for four touchdowns and running in another as he led a Paris offense that racked up over 500 yards on the day.

For Cologne, newcomers Bijon Harris and Carlos Hill made an impact as they hung with the Musketeers until halftime. Following the break Paris scored three unanswered touchdowns opening the game up. This win moves the Musketeers to a 3-1 record following the Western Conference win over Cologne.

Surge put on a show in Reutlingen

The Stuttgart Surge held a home game in Reutlingen, playing host to the winless Helvetic Mercenaries. After three first half touchdowns from Reilly Hennessey the Surge were off to the races following a shaky first quarter. Hennessey led a Surge offense that marched up and down the field finding Louis Geyer, Damon Hazelton Jr, and Florian Lengauer. Homegrown passer Lars Heidrich came in the second half and threw for two more scores as the Surge cruised to a 50-7 win.

Stuttgart was able to get to Mercenaries quarterback Carlton Aiken Jr often sacking him 4 times. The unit also dominated in the back end picking off the Aiken Jr twice, once for a beautiful pick six from veteran German linebacker Luis Bach. The win moves the Surge to an impressive 5-0 record giving them sole possession of first place in the ELF's exciting Central Conference.
